Ashley Boar

A Silver prize and 2nd place winner of two international music competitions, Ashley Boar is exploring the realms of neo-romanticism, mathematical composition, along with sound design and scoring for video games. Her musical fascinations include romantic composers, the connection between mathematics and music, and the increasing interchangeability within same-keyed instruments.

Ashley graduated in May 2024 from Montana State University with her Bachelors of Arts in Music Technology. She quickly moved on to Audio Engineering for Audio Media, an audio-visual company based out of Seattle. During this time, she has explored more styles of composing and composing for different chamber groups. Ashley loves to compose with a neo-romantic style and to explore the intersection of music and math.

In addition to being a composer and audio engineer, Ashley also enjoys performing, orchestrating, sound designing, and scoring. Throughout her life Ashley has learned to play many instruments including Flute, Oboe, English Horn, Saxophones, and Piano. Her main focus is on Piano, Oboe, and English Horn while she picked up both Tenor and Alto saxophones for 7 years of marching band, including her time with Spirit of the West at Montana State University.

As an up-and-coming musician of multiple fascinations Ashley takes opportunities to explore new avenues and trail-blaze her own. Outside of music Ashley enjoys outdoor activities, video games, and learning about other cultures.
